Black Friday is still weeks away, but that hasn’t stopped a few retailers from revealing their hottest gaming discounts. And, with the launches of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in mid-November, many of them will likely be offering current-gen consoles at steeply reduced rates.

While consoles are usually a Black Friday staple, a combination of increased popularity due to COVID-19 and the PS5/Series X launch has made early deals virtually nonexistent. Seriously, we scoured the advertisements for Walmart, Best Buy, Costco, Sam’s Club and Target; outside of a couple Switch bundle offers, there aren’t any upcoming console discounts advertised.
However, we have a hunch Microsoft and Sony are holding back to help push the new generation of consoles, so we expect more deals to pop up once those are actually on the market.
If you’re looking for an affordable gaming console, these are the places you’ll want to be shopping. We’ll likely see more promotions announced as we inch closer to Black Friday on November 27th, so stay tuned for more deals.
Nintendo Switch Black Friday Discounts and Deals

Unfortunately, the Nintendo Switch isn’t seeing any discounts right now. Both the original console and its Lite variant are listed at full price at most retailers. However, Best Buy does have the elusive Animal Crossing Switch in stock after a long drought.
Since Nintendo doesn’t have a next-gen console on the horizon, we’re not sure if it’ll see discounts as generous as those for PS4 and Xbox One. Still, Nintendo products are always popular listings on Black Friday, and…
